Resurfacing the Parking Lot
On Sunday, June 6, the members of Village Church voted to ‘Pursue raising funds for resurfacing the front parking lot by asking church attendees to pledge funds in the form of paying for parking spaces. If 75% or more of the funds are pledged by July 15, 2021 then Village Church would take the balance out of our building reserve to resurface the parking lot hopefully as early as this fall.”
All pledges must be received by June 15. Only individuals that presently are assigned to have access to financial information will be aware of the individual pledges.
An Online Pledge Card is at the bottom of this page or you can get a printed pledge card at Village Church.
Things you should know before you complete your pledge form:
- Pledges for at least 75% of the cost of resurfacing the Front Parking Lot must be made by July 15, 2021 if we want to get the parking lot resurfaced this fall.
- We are trying to resurface the parking lot without getting a loan, therefore, we (the church) would need the pledged funds by October 1, 2021 to pay for the project.
- If we remove a few islands that are presently part of the parking lot, the total cost of resurfacing the Front Parking Lot is $110,000. It would give us a few more spaces ~5 and would be much easier to maintain.
- Pledges may come in the form of parking spots or dollars. If you choose to pledge by parking spot(s), each parking spot equals $1,100. You can also pledge cash in any dollar amount, it does not need to equate to the cost of a parking spot.
- Pledge forms can be placed in any of the offering boxes in the church or sent to the church office.
- If we do not reach pledges in the amount of $82,500 by July 15, 2021, we will not request the pledged amount to be given by October 1, 2021 and the parking lot will not be resurfaced this fall. However, if you would like to give your pledged amount this year it would be placed in a Parking Lot Resurfacing Fund to be used in the future. Future plans to resurface the front parking lot would then need to be discussed at a Church business meeting.
- Funds pledged should be over and above your regular church contributions.
- There will be a display showing our progress on reaching our goal of 75% ($82,500) in our foyer and outside during our outside services.
