…Anticipatory Reflections of Sunday…

The song Open Up The Heavens contains such a sweet bridge, as we call out to God “…show us / show us your glory…” As Moses asked the Lord, long ago, so we boldly ask God to show us more of His glory, as we celebrate our mission statement, last week focusing on the “glorify God” part. We want to know God better. That’s what we’re doing by gathering and singing His praises.

The Way  is a new song to Village, that we started singing last week. The chorus is based on John 14:6. Verse two contains these words of praise:

“Through every blessing / Through every promise / Through every breath I take
I believe that You are provider / You are protector / You are the one I love”
It is a beautiful thing to praise God, through every blessing. It is a joy to not forget to say “thank you” and “I love you” to our wonderful, benevolent King of Kings.

In How He Loves, we sing one simple anthem: God loves us. I hope you enjoy as much as I do, the tenderness of our men, singing this song out, as Craig Sixta, Scott Sonderby and Tim Huff worship, in this beautiful song. I thoroughly enjoy working with the men of Village, and one of my favorite parts is the way they show the gentleness of God’s heart.

Your Even So Come a song of exuberant anticipation! We long for God to come and set all things right!

I really enjoy singing with you, as we just simply come to praise God. He sees what’s going on, on the inside of us. Let’s bring Him our hearts, our musical notes, our offerings, and our undivided attention.

PS: All month long, we celebrate our mission statement and seek to live it out. One of the songs in the wing is Glory to God, Forever – a joyful declaration of praise and glory, as well as an invitation for God to take us and make us a part of how He is glorified. “take my life and let it be / all for You and for Your glory.” How cool is it that our God (who doesn’t need us) wants us!? He is amazing! We may sing it any of these weeks.
