…Anticipatory Reflections of Sunday…

“[T]hese words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children…” ~ Deut. 6:6-7a

This Sunday is our annual Sunday School Service, where we take time to celebrate the end of Sunday School and share what God has taught us. We’ll begin our time with, 10,000 Reasons, a song to celebrate God’s character, constant and worthy. Next we sing, This is Amazing Grace, A song celebrating God’s character, gracious and–once again–worthy. We then sing, My Lighthouse, a favorite of our Village youth and kids. It’s a creative way to describe God’s character–the source of bright light, guiding our way.

The K-6 graders will lead our congregation in the motions and lyrics of, Days of Elijah, which is a life-filled song. When we sing “There’s no God like Jehovah” we sing it softly first–as if we whisper it to ourselves. Eventually we cry it aloud, as if shouting it to the world!

Lastly, would you join me in singing, How Great is Our God, with our youth band. It is an anthem of the church, around the world. It is a song ascribing glory and praise to the One who is worthy of it all! It’s a great feeling to get over ourselves, not live for ourselves, and live–instead–for Jesus.

I’m pumped…I get to deliver the message on this very special morning. Sunday School has been a great year, and what a way to conclude it, than with an overview from Pre-K through 12th grade, and to sit at God’s feet, as we open His Word in Deuteronomy 6:4-9. I hope you will join me, in this celebration.
