Upcoming Staff Changes

I want to share with you a few changes that are happening amongst the Village Church staff. First, Tim Huff, our Associate Pastor over the past 3 years will be stepping down from his current position in April. He has been given the opportunity to pursue a consulting role with General Mills, the company from which he retired. Tim will continue to be involved in maintenance and operation projects at the church a few hours a week. As a staff, we are sad to see Tim step down, but are excited with him for this new opportunity. I want to personally thank Tim for how he has faithfully served this church family. I have truly enjoyed serving alongside him. He brought much wisdom, discernment, humor, and perseverance.

With Tim stepping away from his role, the Elders are recommending Janice Van Arnam, our current Church Administrator and previous Director of Family Discipleship, for a newly created role called Director of Community Life and Communications. This position has four main components: Connection, Care, Community, and Communication. Which means she will be working with the welcome team, small groups, world discipleship/outreach, adult ministries and communication. Janice’s history and effectiveness in both vocational and volunteer ministry at Village, her gifting in vision casting and administration, and most importantly her heart and passion for Jesus and his disciple-making mission uniquely qualifies her for this new role.  I am personally excited to see Janice live out her gifts in this new way as she helps “equip the saints for the work of ministry.”

The Elders are inviting the congregation to ask questions and share feedback about this new role and to also ask Janice questions during a meeting on Sunday, March 14 at 5:30 PM before our Village Night of Prayer.

With the possibility of Janice stepping into this new role, we will be hiring a part-time (approx. 15 hours a week) office administration position.
